Individual Volunteers
Uplift and empower area nonprofits and schools, meet new people, see other parts of the region, and try something new! Servathon is a great place to begin volunteerism or — if you have been a volunteer before — to try a new type of project!
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Sign up as an individual volunteer. You’ll be able to select a project beginning in early April.
- Become a Team Captain and help lead other volunteers.
- Have your company sponsor the event.
- Tell your friends! Ask your friends, family and colleagues to participate in Servathon, too! If they can’t participate, ask them to sponsor you.
There is a $25 registration fee* for each volunteer to help cover program costs (supplies, t-shirts, water and snacks) for the day. We also ask each volunteer to raise a minimum of $100. To find out how we help you fundraise, click here. It’s not mandatory but we greatly appreciate your help! Once you register, Greater DC Cares makes it easy with your own online Headquarters (MY HQ). You will have your own web page with automated tools that allow you to create your personal online Servathon page with customized photos and a personal message. You will be able to send emails inviting friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor you. We provide sample emails that you can use or edit, or you can write your own.
Volunteer Registration open now! In early April we will post the service projects so you can select a specific volunteer location. Join in and help paint a classroom! Build a playground! Landscape and make a school look great!
Information for Youth Volunteers: Volunteers 12-18 years-old can participate in Servathon with parental supervision, and a parent or legal guardian must sign a youth liability waiver form at the project site. Please email servathon@greaterdccares.org if you have questions.
